We’re Honored You Scheduled Your Trial Class
Our instructors are parents and practitioners who take pride in sharing their knowledge with the coming generations. We always have at minimum 3 instructors who take the time to break off and segment the kids according to their ages and abilities, working closely to ensure safety and comfort.
What To Expect At Your First Class
Welcome
Please arrive 15 minutes prior so your child can get accustomed to the space and so the adults have time to speak. When you walk in the doors, if we don’t approach you first, find a coach and let them know you’ve booked a trial.
We’ll meet you and your child(ren), learn about your goals and interests, and welcome your family to the mats. There is abundant seating, air conditioning, water station, changing room and restroom.
Training
Kids will line up and get into the mindset that we are in a place to learn and focus. We warm up by playing games that facilitate coordination, balance, and muscle memory for functional movements.
Then we settle down and learn the moves of the day from the coaches. From there, they break off into small groups and work with a coach on the teaching of the day. We gather up and pay attention, then break off some more to build on the movements and teachings.
Attire
For our No-Gi classes, we expect kids to have trimmed fingernails, fresh hygiene, long hair tied up, and in athletic outfit: shorts, sweatpants, and a t-shirt that is not excessively loose. Please, no jewelry, earrings, zippers, buttons, or other accessories that can get caught on clothing or damage the mats.Â
Parents are encouraged to stay, there is ample seating for you!
